Wedding Party Gifts...

I've been trying to come up with sometime a little different for the wedding party gifts other then jewelry. Jewelry is easy and beautiful, but even my wedding jewelry is sitting in a box somewhere. It's one of those things I don't think any notices except the bride and her bridesmaids. I'm also not that picky with making sure they all match down to the jewelry and shoes. The dress is enough.

So I'm 99% sure I'm going to go with bathrobes. I know not everyone uses one or even really wants one, but I'm a sucker for anything that would be a good photo and how fun is this:

Cost wise they aren't any different than jewelry. Right around $40-50 each. I'd also really like to order one for both my mother and my future mother in law. Any other ideas out there on wedding party gifts?

The guys I'm totally lost on, but I'm sure that will be a bottle of something and a tie or cufflinks.

Invitations by Dawn...

Invitations by Dawn had a wedding horror story blog contest...unfortunately I entered a story about my sisters wedding. It was such a gorgeous wedding and the wedding itself was drama free and beautiful. Leading up to it there were a few tears...

So I wrote about these and won a $50 gift card to Invitations by Dawn - somewhat a bittersweet win.
I finally decided to use the $50 gift card for 2 champagne flutes for the reception. Paid an extra $14 for the names/date to be etched in gold and smiled as I paid $25 instead of $75 for these beauties. Then I get an email statement and checked my bank account - was charged $75! I was so irritated because I start to wonder how many times I don't check what I think I'm being charged vs. what's actually taken out of my bank account.

I called customer service and the lady who answered sounded so crabby I thought about hanging up and trying again. As soon as I explained my situation and I just wanted the $50 credited back to my account she was a new woman and one of the sweetest customer service reps I ever dealt with. She made a few comments about just being charged for shipping and to my surprise the flutes showed up just days later and I was only charged $8.95 (shipping) for these. They went above and beyond my expectations.

Highly recommend using them for all your wedding needs!

Programs...

Got my wedding programs last week! I'm a little bit of a planner and already had the guts of the program done - wedding party, ceremony order, thank yous, etc. But I had no idea what to do about a cover. Luckily I won a $100 gift card from Wedding Nouveau and found these lovely little program covers on Minted!

All you do is print your programs at home, slap them in these cute little DIY program cover, throw a ribbon around it and done! It really couldn't be any easier. So glad to have that one checked off the list!

Welcome Guests...

I've been slowly piecing together my welcome bags for family that are making the big trip. I really wanted to do door hangers that matched our invitations and luckily with a little dabbling in graphic design I got them done! I ordered 25 rack cards and bought a big enough hole punch to cut out the door hanger holes. There was no way I was going to try and take scissors to cut a hole through anything - what disaster that would've been. $15 for these babies...that's it! If you need low numbers like I did look at Zazzle.com - other places were cheaper per door hanger, but you had to order in the hundreds. Like?
