Addressing Envelopes...

Ok I've decided to just print my envelopes, but now I want you to help me pick which one. I like both, but not sure if the Post Office will have a preference vs. one over the other. The last thing I want is returned invitations because they didn't like the way it was typed out.

Stamps on RSVP cards

So I stopped by the Post Office today to buy some postcard stamps for our RSVP cards. I haven't been picky on anything, but as she starts pulling out the postcard stamps and they look like the image below I had to be rude and ask for new ones. They didn't have I paid extra for the Cherry Blossoms and even those I'm not too thrilled about. What happened to plain 'ol stamps?

I'm from South Dakota and now we're in Colorado so even the Washington DC Cherry Blossoms I'm not thrilled about. I'm just not in the mood to pay extra for custom stamps on

What did anyone else do? I really do think the one thing I'm being particular on is the least important...

4 Month Countdown...

Exactly 4 months until I become the Future Mrs. PL! :)

So excited and equally nervous as I still have LOTS to do! This weekend involved putting together all my invitations before realizing that I needed stamps with those RSVPs and surprise the post office is closed all weekend long and today, Monday, for Memorial Day. (HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SERVE OUR COUNTRY!) Luckily they weren't stuffed in the envelopes yet!

Up next is an outdoor sign for our wedding reception, which I'm almost done with and addressing the envelopes. I'm planning on printing them with the same front that I used on the invitations. I'm a little concerned printing rather than hand addressing them might be tacky....what do you think?

Happy Memorial Day!

My memorial weekend: yard work and one tired pup!

Invitations are coming...

Looks like I know what I'll be doing over Memorial Weekend...invitations! I'm so excited because my box of envelopes and pocket folds have been patiently sitting in the box waiting for the invitations. Here's what the final product will look like. My favorite part are the "ghost leaves" inside instead of a piece of tissue paper.

Closed with a wax seal with our initials and the only bad part about these invitations...$1.10/piece to mail them. When you do $100 that adds up quickly!

Also be sure to check out this great giveaway over at Before The I Do's:

How cute is this "Here Comes the Bride" sign...I personally like it much better than a ring pillow with fake rings.

Wedding Tree Guestbook

I knew I wanted the typical guestbook with our engagement photos, but also wanted something fun for us to display. I've always loved the wedding tree guestbooks and I've seen quite a few lately with Aspen trees.

Then I stumbled upon SayAnythingDesign and found more then what I was looking for! These Aspen tree guest books are 12in x 36in. Something different and great to hang in smaller places around the home.

For just $49 they shipped this print and 3 ink colors as well as your pen for signatures. I can't wait to get this framed and especially to see it all filled up after September 28!

First Dance Song...New Favorite Song

I don't know how I just heard this song the other week and it's my new favorite and seriously contemplating it for our first dance! What do you think?

Etsy...Invitations to Sell?

I love just playing around with Photoshop and Illustrator and coming up with designs. Did my own wedding invitations which I'll post a photo of shortly after they go out.

Anyone have experience selling on Etsy? I think I'd offer the pdf versions so buyers can take the images wherever they'd like to have them printed rather then waiting on someone to ship them.

Anyone else just starting out or doing something similar? Here's a few save the dates/invitations below...see any potential?

Feeling Lucky...

What a great weekend! First I went back home for my best friend's bridal shower and bachelorette party. So much fun and such a well needed break.

Secondly - I loved checking my emails because I won some fantastic stuff!

1) Custom State Print from EmbieOnline
What a great gift for someone getting married! Or in this case we decided to just keep it for ourselves and display it at the reception guestbook table. Adorable! Too bad Colorado is such a boring state shape. :)

2) DeLovely Details $75 gift card
I've searched for wedding hangers and have always wanted to buy my bridesmaids them, but didn't want any extra expenses since this wedding is adding up fast! Tada...DeLovely Details has hangers and if you order 3 or more they are just $10. It includes their name and a little heart underneath. I opted out of having our wedding date printed on them because in all reality - who wants our wedding date on all their stuff except us. This way the bridesmaids (and both my mom and my fiance's) can have these cute little hangers for anything. Order early though - 6 weeks to order.

3) Mr. and Mrs. Signs from Blushing Bride blog and From Kristen With Love
There were two giveaways for Mr. and Mrs. signs and I'm so thankful for getting at least one of them! I recently tried doing signs myself out in the yard...what a disaster. They are so much harder then they look. So I'm thrilled to have these signs and can't wait to get them!

So thank you giveaways - you're helping with some amazing items for the wedding!

Monogram Unity Candle

Where the heck do I find a monogram unity candle? I can certainly DIY and print it on vellum, but I LOVE my sister's candle. You can see it here:

It was the monogram etched into the candle and it's not your typical pillar candle - a little shorter and a little wider. I can't find one to save my life.

Dance Lessons!

So excited he said Yes! To dance lessons...heehee.

We'll be learning the Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, and Cha-Cha. My fiance says tall guys should not be allowed to dance. He's 6'3. I think once he learns how to it'll be just fine. I don't want to have the groom not dance at his own wedding. Nor do I want our first dance to look like something out of a 6th grade dance.

I've always loved the YouTube videos of first dances starting out slow and breaking into a dance routine. I took dance lessons (ballet, tap, jazz, hip name it) growing up and the dance team in highs school so I'm not uncomfortable with dancing. These lessons will be a good for me too...I can whip out a dance routine to Britney Spears for you, but not a waltz!

Which leads me into another part of this whole first dance...what the heck is our song going to be? We have so many in mind: Tim McGraw's Put this Circus Down, Green River Ordinance's Dancing Shoes (I personally think it's a little too somber for a first dance "dance away our blues...") or the Give Into Me song from Country Song. Any ideas on something that hasn't been overplayed and overdone!

My Dad/Daughter dance I want to be Darius Rucker's "Won't Be Like This for Long"...makes me cry every time!! That's probably not a good thing...

So first dance? Not overdone...ideas?

Reception Site Photos

So it may be a little more country then I originally thought. :) Funny how things can change when it's not all done up. Lots of potential and to be honest even just having the chairs down and the tables covered will make it look fabulous. Not a whole lot you have to do or decorate. Any ideas on decor?
